"AiroTEC CMRU" and "GISTDA" to organize the
“GEMS Local Seminar” aimed at integrating knowledge and sustainable air quality management.

       The AiroTEC of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) and the United Nations (UNESCAP), organized the “GEMS Local Seminar.” The seminar featured Prof. Im Jungho from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, Republic of Korea, as the keynote speaker. Representatives from Prince of Songkla University, Chulalongkorn University, Silpakorn University, Kasetsart University, Chiang Mai Provincial Agriculture Office, Northern Regional Center for Geo-Informatics and Space Technology, Northern Meteorological Center, Chiang Mai Breath Council, Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office, Chiang Mai Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports, Chiang Mai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, Chiang Mai Provincial Industry Office, and Forest Resources Management Office 1 (Chiang Mai Province) participated in the seminar held on August 2, 2024, at the University Council Meeting Room, Rajabhat Chalermprakiet Building, and the rooftop of the 15th Floor, 90th Anniversary Building, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Wiang Bua Campus, Muang District, Chiang Mai. and visited the Pandora Spectrometer.

 

      The seminar included demonstrations of modeling using GEMS satellite data in Thailand to measure PM 2.5, as well as the application of advanced satellite data for air pollution forecasting and air quality monitoring. Additionally, the seminar served as a platform for collaboration and discussion among partners to explore and apply space technology for sustainable air quality monitoring and management in Thailand.
