AiroTEC Distributes KN95 Masks to CMRU Personnel as a Gesture of Care During the PM2.5 Crisis

Amid the ongoing PM2.5 air pollution crisis affecting Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son provinces and posing serious health risks to the public, AiroTEC at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU) has demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding the well-being of university personnel. In response, AiroTEC organized the activity “Sharing Care, Protecting Against PM2.5”, collecting and distributing KN95 masks – known for their effectiveness in filtering fine particulate matter – to faculty and staff across all departments and offices. The distribution covered CMRU’s main campus in Chiang Mai city, the Mae Rim campus, and the Mae Hong Son campus.

This initiative took place in early March 2025 and was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Phathranit Kitthitinan and Ms. Patcharin Somput, reflecting AiroTEC’s deep concern and firm intention to reduce health risks from air pollution. It also highlights the organization’s ongoing support for the university community during times of crisis.

In addition to the distribution of face masks, AiroTEC has actively supported efforts to prevent, mitigate, and restore damage caused by wildfires and haze, in collaboration with CMRU and the Mae Rim District Office. This support includes providing essential equipment and materials for firebreak construction and assisting in firefighting operations in high-risk areas, thereby helping to reduce the impact on local communities and the environment in a tangible and meaningful way.
