GISDA and NIER, Korea, discuss cooperation on air quality.
On September 2, 2022, the President of the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), Republic of Korea, together with team members from UNESCAP, KOICA, and GISTDA, discussed cooperation in monitoring air quality and the environment with GEMS satellite systems, as well as visiting the Pandora weather measuring instrument installation on the rooftop of Building 90 Year, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University.
Chiang Mai Rajabhat University administrators and professors welcomed Dr. Dong Jin KIM, President of the National Institute for Environment Research or NIER, a senior executive of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea, along with a group consisting of representatives from the United Nations (UNESCAP), Representatives from GISTDA,
and professors from Pukyong National University. The objective is to strengthen cooperation from Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, being the location to install the Pandora Air Quality Monitor, Ground–based Remote Sensing System, and the Pandora Asia Network (PAN) under the project “Building the Pan. –Asia Partnership for Geospatial Air Pollution information, PAPGAPi.”
