CMRU Joins TCAC 2025: “Inspiring Climate Solutions for All”

Asst.Prof.Dr. Ratchaphon Samphutthanont, Director of the Asian Air Quality Operations Center by Space Technology, Geo-informatics and Environmental Engineering (AiroTEC), represented Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU) at the 4th Thailand Climate Action Conference (TCAC 2025) under the theme “Inspiring Climate Solutions for All” The event was held on September 29–30, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, and brought together more than 2,000 participants, including ministers, members of parliament, ambassadors, international organizations, private sector representatives, provincial governors, academics, and the general public. The conference featured a variety of activities, such as national and regional policy forums, exhibitions on innovation and best practices in greenhouse gas reduction, climate change adaptation, and discussions on the role of youth, business, academia, and local agencies in driving concrete climate action.
As a local higher education institution, CMRU has continuously emphasized addressing climate change and disasters affecting local communities. The university has undertaken research, academic services, and sustainable development initiatives through the application of geospatial and space technologies, particularly in northern Thailand where PM2.5 haze and natural disasters remain critical issues. CMRU’s participation in TCAC 2025 demonstrates its commitment to social and environmental responsibility and provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration with national and international networks. This engagement contributes to advancing Thailand’s sustainable pathway toward achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and Net-Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2065.
